13 month update

Ben turned 13 months old on the 23rd. He's changing so fast that it's hard to keep up. He's no longer gaining weight, but is getting much taller. We've now lost count of how many teeth he has - probably ~11 or 12? He's gotten some molars in on both the top and bottom.

We're working a lot on Ben's communication to help with his tantrums. He's signing for milk, hat and eat.He LOVES hats, so we have a couple around the house that he'll wear. He said a lot of words including dada, mama, apple, hat, door, done, toot-toot (for when he passes gas), diaper and ball. He knows where his head, nose and feet are (and probably some other things I'm forgetting). He also likes to comb his hair with a comb or brush. He's surprisingly good at it :).

Ben's really becoming much more mobile. He able to get on and off his bike and he's able to climb up on to one of our ottomans. He's cruising really well now, but still is too top heavy to walk. Ben started swim classes just after his first birthday. He liked it at first, but has started to get more and more upset when we get in the pool. We think he doesn't like getting water in his ears. We've started practicing with him at home, which seems to be helping.

This month we made a quick trip to LA to visit Mema, attend our friend Beatriz's first birthday party in Santa Monica, and attend Craig's meeting in Pasadena. Ben also got his first haircut!

Ben's birthday party at daycare. I can't believe they're able to get the kiddos to sit like that!

Everything is a hat!

He wants off of the icky grass, STAT.

Playing ball with Mema.

Swiping dad's card at dinner :).

Helping dad with his hat.

First haircut. He wasn't too sure about it, but did better than the kid next to him.

Inspecting a water fountain in downtown Chandler (post haircut).

Literally, everything is a hat :)

Found one of dad's hats.

In the game of thrones, you win or you die. We won :). Also, it looks like I have a baby hand in this pic. LOL.

Silly guy.

Riding his "bike". Dad was a little nervous about Ben's first few rides :).

Shaky octopus. Grandma TT got him that before he was born!

Blowing raspberries on mama's leg.
