April 2020! Happy Birthday Ben!!!

Ben turned 3 this month!!! When I asked what Ben wanted for his birthday he said cake and balloons. I hope he's always this easy to please :). We held a Zoom birthday party with a few family and friends. Ben had a great time but was very shy for the actual Zoom meeting - his favorite part was when everyone sang Happy Birthday.

We continued to isolate at home to make sure our house was virus-free for the arrival of baby sister. We are keeping busy with art projects, swimming, reading, playing with toys and what Ben calls "newt racing" (racing around the house). Ben got another bed upgrade - this time to a twin size. He seems to like it much more than his toddler bed. We're thrilled because this means he's stopped sleeping in the middle of the hallway and has stopped waking up so much at night. More sleep for us!!! Ben's favorite book this month is a Micky Roadster Racers coloring book (which he doesn't actually show any interest in coloring - LOL). He reads with Craig at least 1-1.5 hours every night. It's, by far, his favorite activity. He also like watching Truck Tunes songs (his favorite are Dump Truck and Excavator). Ben is excited for the arrival of his sister. I think he thinks she's going to play cars with him right off the bat. Lol.

Our favorite Ben-isms this month:

• Saying "I'm furious!" when he's angry about something.
• Singing the wrong words to Raspberry Beret (In case you know the lyrics, here's Ben's version: "Porcupine time at the five and dime, my boss was mookin' at me" LOL)

April was cool enough for picnics in the front yard. Ben knows how to picnic! Eat, sleep, repeat :)

These two goofballs love to play together now. This is their current favorite game.
