April 2021! Happy Birthday Ben!!!

April has been eventful! Ben turned 4!!!! He's a smart, funny, creative guy whose favorite pastime is making us laugh. He loves singing, eating treats, running, and playing with Nora. We celebrated his birthday with Pawpaw and Grandma Helen, who were out for a visit, and with family via Zoom. Ben's birthday present from us was a kayaking trip to Canyon Lake. He LOVED it and was a natural. The only thing he didn't like was the spider that briefly joined us in the boat. After it was "dispatched", he was all smiles again. Ben surprised us this month by reading Nora's name on his water bottle (their school mislabelled it) - go Ben! He likes to "freestyle", especially brushing is teeth at night. No conventional teeth-brushing methods for this kid! He also likes to pretend like he's running so fast that he looks like a blur! He runs through the house yelling "Mom! I'm so fast that I'm a blur!!!"

Nora is doing great, too! She was happy to share birthday cake with Ben and is getting ready for her own birthday soon! She's standing freely on her own now and is getting very close to walking. She's been signing for milk, shaking her head no, and feeding herself with a spoon. She's added "clock" to her vocabulary, but also says a lot of gibberish that sounds like she speaking Welch. Unfortunately, Nora spent some time in the ER this month with a very high fever (105.8!). She tested positive for adenovirus and rhinovirus, which are pretty common, and the former was likely the cause of her high fever. She's fine now except for a persistent cough.

We sold our house in April! While we'll miss our little house (it's the first one we've ever owned!), we're looking forward to having more room in the new one. We'll be moving in late May :).
