December was fun! We had a second Thanksgiving with Aunt Debbie and Uncle Joe. Unfortunately some plumbing issues in our kitchen prevented us from actually cooking dinner, so we went out to eat instead. I cooked the turkey and sides on the following Monday, so I guess you could say we had three Thanksgivings! We are VERY thankful this year :). We also visited Santa, Luminarias at the Desert Botanical Garden, the crazy Christmas lights house in Arcadia, ZooLights, and stayed at a hotel while our plumbing was being addressed.
Ben and Nora had a great Christmas! It's awesome how much even the smallest gifts bring them joy. Nora is learning a ton of new words. She's expressed that her favorite color is purple and loves to point out all things purple. She calls Vincent "Deet Deet" and loves telling him no when he tries to eat her food. She also very good at letting us know when she's unhappy by telling us "NO, WHY??????" in the most dramatic way possible. She's also solidly in the "MINE" phase, and, although she is adamant about things being hers, she is usually good about sharing.
Ben is equally as entertaining. He wrote a song called "Don't Freeze My Heart" (LOL), which he sang to us for a full 30 minutes one night. It was pretty epic. Ben was soooo excited to see Santa this year. He took a picture of what he wanted for Christmas to Santa. We've been open with him about Santa being part of Christmas "lore" - he seems to have completely ignored that and believes anyway :).
Happy Holidays and New Year to you all! Much love.
Dinner with Aunt Debbie and Uncle Joe. She wore her RGB shirt just for Aunt Debbie.Post-dinner family pic! Always fun to visit with Debbie and Joe!
Cute girl (and she knows it :)
Luminarias with Chihuly in the Desert. Sorry for the out-of-focus picture - poor lighting and outdated iPhone camera :(. Super happy about his polish sausage. Just some silly Ben dances at the Luminarias.
Silly faces at the zoo with mom while dad gets work done.
Merry Christmas! We didn't expect to be able to be so close to Santa this year! I hope he stayed healthy!Ben LOVED visiting with Santa. Nora wanted nothing to do with him.Music time.
I just don't even know. Lol.
Classic Ben pose on a holiday decoration he made at school. Tongue out seems to be Nora's modus operandi these days :)Enthralled with a cooking show at the hotel (we don't watch much TV at home. lol).
Crazy Christmas lights house. We love that this guy does this every year!!!
Christmas smiles.Helping Nora open her presentSomeone had chocolate in their stocking. I'm not going to say who!Silly giggles over some bubbles.

Time for a ride!
Yes, it's warm enough to sit outside and have ice cream in December. Someone please get me out of this state.
They entertained themselves for a good 20 minutes by "cleaning" the sink!
What happens when you ask Ben to smile. LOL.
Trying to fit in the wagon at ZooLights. This definitely didn't lead to any fights at all.ZooLights!
