March 2022!!!

March was a busy month! We drove to San Diego, where we visited the zoo, botanical gardens and air and space museum. At the zoo, Nora's favorite animal was the baboons - she kept shouting "BABOOOOOOON!" as we walked through it. Ben made friends with a penguin named Tinka. Tinka liked to look at Ben's toy frog, so he "played" with her for a bit. At the Air and Space Museum Ben and Craig rode a flight simulator. Ben did well, but was a little scared and wasn't ready to actually take the controls. We then drove to Palmdale to visit with Mema where we got to relax and get spoiled. In mid-March we visited the Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center and learned about a ton of animals that are native to Arizona. This month we also had a visit from Grandma TT while Craig was out of town for a conference. We had lots of fun adventures with Grandma, including going to the Desert Botanical Gardens where we visited the Butterfly Habitat.

Ben is excited for his upcoming birthday! He still makes up silly words - this month is was "hawsaw" and "cluncher", which refer to clothes hangers that have functions other than hanging clothes :). He's still loving to put together Legos and helped Craig assemble the SLS rocket and control center. Both kids have decided that they love Star Wars - their favorite characters are Obi-Wan Kenobi, BB-8 and R2 D2.

Nora has started counting and can now count to four and it's the cutest ("wun, two, tee, foor"). We found out this month that she LOVES Finding Nemo. Now all fish that she sees are referred to as "nemos". When Ben is showing us something he made/found/did, Nora shouts "MEEEEEEEEE!" as if to say "I did that, too!". Ex: Ben: "Hey mom! Look at this rock!"; Nora: "MEEEEEEE!". She's calling most animals by the sound they make (ex: snakes are "hisssss"). Her vocabulary is really taking off this month, especially during Grandma TT's visit.
